resurrecting this blog

I have not posted in this blog for a while… but I have been keeping my wandering eye blog up to date.

I am now in Southern Ecuador, teaching myself landscape photography.  I know the theory ( foreground, mid-ground, background, exposure) but, as in most things in photography, theory and practice are 2 different things.

I do miss the control I had in the studio, but I think ( hope) the stepping out side and learning a new genre will make me better at my craft.

I also have been getting back into my first love, which is nature and wildlife…. man have I lost a lot of my chops on this.

In the days of manual focus and film, my shooting ratio ( good shots to bad) was much better.  I do try things that I would not have tried on film though.

I am also exploring what I call abstracts in nature.  I am not sure if these have potential or if they are just mistakes.  I am trying to create more of a mood or feel then a straight share image.
