Lizard in waterfall

One of the things I like about where I am is the wildlife.

I don’t always try and take photos of it, like the birds I saw this morning, because it may disturb them.  The birds this morning looked like several young birds and an older one.  and by getting my camera I felt it would disturb their feeding patternI enjoyed just watching them.

One visitor I did photograph is this lizard who seems to have dropped into the pool at the bottom of the waterfall.  I am not sure how he got there…. if he came through the pip which feeds the falls, or some other way…but he was not moving very fast.
After a hour or so he had climbed a few feet up the falls, but seemed to be having trouble

every time he was hit by a major slash.

I don’t like to intervene in the course of nature… the law of unintended consequences… but he didn’t know it… he was trapped.  His only way out was threw a wash of water which was likely to send him to the bottom again.

I grabbed a broom from my room. Placed it where he could easily climb on ( which he did quickly) then, after a few minutes of studing him closely in the sun, place the broom near some plants close to the falls.

He quickly scampered into the foiliage and disappeared.

Now I will search the net to find out what type of lizard he was.
