A friend told me that she was going on a guided tour of the palace, so I said I would go along.
I had to register on the net ( name, address, passport number) and 24 hours later I received my pass via email.
The tour was a video tour of the interiors and a walking tour of some of the exteriors. It was ok, but I expected a little more.
I still did not get invited for tea… 🙁
There was 1 guide, with 5 or 6 assistants close by watching us.
There where armed and vested guards always close by as well.
I am trying to remember if the police are armed, but this is the first time I can remember seeing someone who was obviously carrying.
Security guards and armoured car drivers carry sticks while wearing vests and helmets, but no sidearms.
These armed guards ( emperor’s security detail?) were very watchful… They had a job and they were there to do it!
