The weather here in Loja is interesting, and I am starting to understand the pattern
Mornings have started sunny in the low teens ( Celsius ) As the day goes on the sun heats up… A lot. I spent an hour walking around a couple of days ago and I am still red. I picked up some sun block….SPF 60! After coming from Toronto winter, I will need it. They also sell SPF 100!
So as the day goes on it gets hotter, ( 25) in the shade and the clouds starts forming, or coming over the mountains. Usually by 2 or 3 there is rain. Sometimes it is just a gentle sprinkle… Other times it is a downpour.
As the sunsets it gets chilly very quickly… By 7 it is in the mid teens…
So you need to dress in layers and for a change in the weather….but there is no snow, and it is very comfortable sleeping weather.
I am having less trouble with the altitude then I thought I would. I don’t normally notice the difference. If I am exerting myself ( climbing stairs, or hills) I can feel out of breathe. I don’t feel light headed, or have headaches which are signs of problems. So things look good on that front.
