Stress Test- Heart

One of the things I am dealing with is a “tickle” in my chest.

Nothing disturbing, but just trying to figure out what it is.  I have an idea but the MD wants to check out all things.

Today I had a heart stress test. ( I don’t think my issue is heart related)

The idea is.

Inject you with radio active stuff

Take a 3d image of your heart at “rest”

Stress your heart ( treadmill)

Inject you with more stuff

Take another 3d image of your heart when they see where the “stuff” went to.

Sounds good in theory.

In practice… it means 4 hours with a tube hanging out of your arm ( uncomfortable)

2X 15 minutes in a machine as motionless as possible as this thing whirls and clicks around you.

Time on a treadmill, while wired to a computer as they increase speed and angle to get your heart rate up.

My biggest problem was on the treadmill.  I could not get my heart rate high enough before my legs ( knees ) were hurting.  The prvious setting I could have done for hours ( a little above my normal walk), but the increase was a little much.  I did get to 85% of the target rate  ( which is 170 ) so I was able to get “valid” results.

I was happy with the behaviour of my heart…. all the walking I do is good for it….

It will be a couple of weeks before results are known.
