I am sitting in a McDonalds ( model is running late…same the world over)
Smoking is still a popular vice in Tokyo, but unlike North America, it seems to be restricted to inside.. which sucks for non-smokers… There are smoking areas on the street but a lot of restricted places.
As well as the smoke, the musak in this place reminds me of a bad sixties spy movie.
There is a construction site accross the street… Looks like it will be a mid to high rise… It is all surrounded with white tarps. Cement mixers arrive and leave every 2 to 3 minutes.
The flagmen are great to watch…they almost dance as they move the truck into postion, stop the traffic and pedestrians. It takes four of them… 2 for traffic 2 for pedestrians. And when they are finished they bow to the people they have stopped. It looks like they are enjoying what they are doing and I enjoyed watching them
