See the light
intensive 2 day workshop
Sept 10, 11
Toronto
In my experience there are two important factors in creating a great image.
Seeing the light, and seeing the image.
Seeing the light is the technical aspect of photography, the exposure, white balance, light placement etc. A lot of this can be described with light meters and diagrams, but to see the light you have to experience it, to know how it will behave. Â
The true artistic look of an image comes when the photographer starts Seeing the Image, the artistic aspect of the image… seeing the lines, forms, texture, different planes of the image and how they add to the emotional content.
Seeing the light, is fairly constant between all good photographers.
Seeing the image is unique to each individual. The Style of a photographer is a combination of how the deal with seeing the light and seeing the Image
This weekend is designed to challenge your photographic skills, and maybe your ideas of what photography is.
Be prepared to have your vision questioned and challenged.Â
We will take time to critic images that you shoot on the weekend to allow you to try new things, to grow as a photographer
The goal is to learn how to see,
how to see the image before you press the shutter
how to create a vision
how to see the light
Saturday will be the theoretical day, where we discuss, and dissect light and how it effects everything to do with photography.
