I am sitting in a coffee shop, lost again.
I took a different exit from Shinjuku station thinking it would be closer to my destination.Â
It wasn’t
I think I know were I am. I have to walk around to be sure…. But it is raining, and I didn’t bring an umbrella.
I am on my way to a dance class at a little Latin club. No one speaks English, just Spanish and Japanese.
I still feel comfortable there.
I have about an hour to get there, which is why I am lost, sitting in a cafe and smiling….
The way wet umbrellas are dealt with, is interesting.
Outside of family mart or other convenies there are umbrella stands for 20 or so. You drop it in, and grab it when you leave.
Department stores have dispoable plastic tubes for putting your umbrella in…
Places like this coffee shop have vinyl bags to hold your wet umbrella, to keep it dripping on the floor, and other customers.
You hang the bag up as you leave.
The entrances to the small metro stations have umbrella racks, where lost umbrellas are left.
If you forgot yours, you can pick one up to take with you.
It looks like the rain has stopped so it is time to go get un lost.
