I have spent the past 5+ months in Tokyo trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up.
I did not have access to a studio, and I was spending my time exploring this amazing city.
Before I came to Tokyo, my favorite shooting location was in studio, where I was in control. I could sculpt the light to suit my needs. I thought I could not do that outside of the studio.
I was wrong.
Shooting in the streets I do not have control of the light, but I do have control of the angles I shoot, the time of day and placement of me, and the model ( if I am working with a model) With these variables it is very possible to get a light that I like and can use.
All I had to do was to learn how to see. Before I came to Japan, I knew how to see in studio. Now I have learned how to see the ligh as it is around us, and how to use it to my likeing.
