One of the things I am stuggling with is what to do with my beard.
For people who don’t know me, my personal style is somewhere between hoser and unmade bed.
I also have a beard, that in the winter I let grow. It keeps my face warm.
Japan, from what I have been told, is a country where looks, cleanliness, and first impressions are important. Facial hair is also supposed to be a rareity.
If I was just going on a vacation and playing tourist, I would not be concerned. My purpose of this trip is to complete several projects, for my host and for myself, which require that I interact with locals. I want to put my best face forward…… ( i know bad pun)
My choices with the beard are:
a) shave it off ( not really a choice… tried it a year ago… it isn’t me)
b) keep it bushy, so that it will be soft and cuddly looking
c) trim it tight and close… I always thought this had a bit of a sinister look
I have received advise from several people about this… mostly contridictory.Â
