Day in quito

Spent the night at a hostel…. Don’t know the city so I can’t say the location.

Flight down was turbulent , but un eventful We ( Sandy a fellow Canadian ) and I have our tickets for a 4:30 flight to Loja. So we have a little time to use. We were taking about going to the tourists area but I talked her into hanging out around the hostel….just to get a feel for the real place.

So I am sitting in a park, looking at the mountains and seeing life around me. It is chaos, on a controlled scale. Traffic is bad, and horns are honking. The busses run in dedicated bus lanes, which is quick.

The weather is interesting… It is mountains, cool at night but hot during the day….dressing in layers will be the norm. People seem happy, smiling,laughing. Smoking does not seem to be popular. We had an amazing lunch, of soup, salad, chicken pie, and a lemon pie for desert…and the cost was under $10… For both of us!
