I went to pick up my camera that was in repair at Canon’s service center in Shinjuku.
I had been quoted 94500Â¥ to replace the stutter. Basically I had worn it out.
When I arrived, I had to wait 3 minutes for an English speaking service rep… Which they appolozied for having to wait
She then started going through the list of work done… Hot shoe… Spring on card door… Shutter… Etc etc…. A lot of work.
So how much… 86378Â¥ …. Less then the quoted price!!
It feels so go to have this camera back. they are cleaned the sensor in my other 1d…. For a price of Â¥1050…. about the price of a starbucks and muffin
A couple of hours later I received a phone call from the lady who helped me.
There is a problem with my payment I paid partially with cash and part with Visa. ( something I have done many times in many places).
It seems that Canon doesn’t like this. I will go in tomorrow and pay it all in cash, or all with my visa… Not sure which… I could say no, but that is not who I am. –
