17:18 I am in Copalinga…. An eco lodge in Zamora, just out side portacarpus National Park.
I am feeling great. It has been me, with my camera for 2 days of a 3 day weekend. No idea if any of the shots will be good, but most of the joy in photography for me happens at the pressing of the shutter.
This lodge is a birders paradise… Or a photographers paradise. Catharine ( who loves birds) runs a lodge that attracts the wild birds to her location. The lodge has it’s own trail system… Yes another weekend of getting my cardio workout…. But being just with my camera I could stop and take pictures instead of trying to keep up with a group.
Food is awesome
Catharine keeps well stock bird feeding stations out side the restaurant which adds to the enjoyment of the daytime meals. Watching the humming birds flitter about is always cool to watch

There is electric light, but it attracts the night flying bugs and the less there are around my cabin, the happier I am.
I have had a lot of time to think of my photo tour idea.Â
How many people would want to spend the day wandering through the forest with a camera in their hand, then come back to a great lodge with great food?
This is what I need to find out.
Who wants to join me this fall/ winter?

14:09 I am getting a really good response from my teaching the TOEFL test to ecuadorian teachers, but is this really what I want to do?
I keep coming back to my idea of tours for photographers. This is such a beautiful country.
I think I understand the needs of photo enthusiasts and to set up tours specifically for them would be great.
I also think I am getting wanderlust again. I want to experience new and different. My weekend in Cuenca stoked the desires.
This weekend I am spending a couple of days at a lodge in Zamora. The cost is a little higher than I really want to spend but I won’t be traveling the next weekend ( also a long weekend) since the festival is in Loja.
I am not sure, but this festival might last for 30 days…. In which case I will have to watch my “stuff”… With all the out of towners I am sure the nasty people will be here as well.
The weather in Loja has been amazing, sunny warm and no rain. My clothes were actually dry in 8 hours. It usually takes a couple of days to dry cloths since it usually rains once or twice in the process. Depending on how heavy the rain is, I just look at it as another rinse.
