Miku

I had a couple of shoots on the weekend of a group of ladies ( 2 to 4 depending on scheduales) who dress up and go on stage as Miku 16

I got a few weird looks when I arrived at the shows… Not high on the tourist bureau list of places to see.

Japanese love karaoke. These Variety ( 4 to 7 acts) shows take it a step further.

The performers sing and dance ( sometimes badly) to the popular songs of the day, from Amine or pop stars.
Some perform solo on stage, with thick and well produced backing tracks, of original content.

Their voices are buried in reverb so you can’t really tell how good they are. I usually wear ear plugs to any events… To preserve what hearing I have left.
One of the side effects of plugs is they take the “room” out of the sound so I can hear what it really sounds like.

Some performers…???.. But some were excellent

Miku 16 are “stars” of this scene… there were many members of the audience I have seen at all their shows… including one potential stacker.

They do lip sync with a interesting choreographed routine.

I was wondering about the lip-sync ( even the between song “patter” is synced)

They are based on a anime character named Hatsune Miku… whose was developed based on a voice synthesizer vocaliod.
Their original songs don’t have them singing, but the output of a computer.

Basically all of what they are portraying… including the voices..don’t exist….

The audience loves them.
