I think this disappointment was a great learning experience, and helped shape my future.
Since then I seem to have taken a path less travelled. Or I have travelled a lot on other peoples dime… or insert your own cliche here
Spending time on the road with a rock band,( saw a lot of this amazing country through the dirty windshield of a truck), doing tech support in recording studio ( which had me travelling by air… a lot quicker way then driving), switching to photography, and now heading off to “foreign” lands, I seem to always follow what I want to do vs. what I need to do.
Sometimes it works out….
Sometimes it works out badly…
But it is interesting.
As the date for my trip approaches I am filled with all sorts of emotions.
Excited about going
Sadness about leaving family and friends behind
Dread about packing and getting rid of stuff ( have I mentioned how much I hate packing and organizing)
Worry about am I making the right choices.
It is now approaching crunch time… so back to packing.
