I spend a lot of time on the metro… As do most people In Tokyo. <\/p>\n
Right now I am writing this on my way to meet in a cafe In Shibuya. <\/p>\n
I know the trip very well, since I have done many times. I rarely get lost below ground… It is above ground where I get into trouble. <\/p>\n
This is one of the crush times. Standing room only.\u00a0 Lots of people moving with purpose through the stations.<\/p>\n
One of the transfers I have to make requires going down 1 set of stairs… Not a big deal, except the top of the stairs is wide enough for 5 people across… But it narrows to space for 3 across at the bottom.<\/p>\n
I can understand why from an engineering point of view, but for safety and traffic congestion, I think an alternative should have been found. <\/p>\n
Oh well, no pushing so we all make it through without an issue.\u00a0 It would be disastrous in New York.<\/p>\n
I have been meeting a few people on my own( not Chris’s circle of friends) This includes salsa classes, in Japanese ( I was taking English classes but the Japanese fit better into my schedule). <\/p>\n
Between my hearing problems, and the language I need to watch the instructor closely to get what he is teaching. <\/p>\n
The other students seem to take my lack of language in stride…. It is a great workout 3 solid hours of dancing 2000\u00a5. Which includes a drink. <\/p>\n
Last Sunday I went on photo walk with a group of photographers. <\/p>\n
I met this group through signing up for a charity photo exhibit and sale. It may cost me a few dollars, but just from the people I have met it is worth it. <\/p>\n
As in any large city, it is difficult to meet people… The person in front of you is one of 30 million people in the area… What are the chance of you ever crossing their path again?
