=========================
8:49 This time of year ( around my birthday) I usually spend time thinking about where I am going and what I am doing. This is why I have made some serious life changes around this time of year.
Right now I am feeling a bit restless and aimless. Where to go, what to do? I am not sure.

=======================
7:12 I am a little sore. My legs are complaining, I don’t think it is from the work out on the weekend, but from the sitting on the bus for 10 or 11 hours.

17:33 Kinda proud of myself. We went to Cotopaxi today. We walked up to the 4800 meter mark. ( not from the ground but from a parking lot at about the 3900 mark)
I wasn’t the fastest to make it, but I made it! I did it slow, take 50 steps, stop and take 50 breathes. My legs were ok, but my heart was really working. Considering I have spent most of my life at around 90 meters I did all right.
We are taking the 7 pm bus back to Loja… It should get in around 4 am. With the exercise I did This weekend, I think it should be easy to get some sleep.
Yesterday visit to the other volcano was great. The walk down was easy. The walk up… Not so. There were horses you could rent to take you up, but I decided to walk.
The ride would have been nice, but I don’t think I would have the same level of accomplishment. It only took 1 1/2 hour to do this climb. On horse I would not have been able to stop for shots. Â
Last night we spent the night at a farm about 1/2 an hours drive from Cotopaxi ( very large Volcano). The area is good farm land, but their are rocks all over the place. These range in size from the size of a head, to the largest one that is bigger than my parents house.
The thing about these rocks is they are relatively new… They have been there for about 100 years. They were ejected by the last eruption from Cotopaxi. … so a rock the size of a house ejected 25 kilometers… I can’t imagine being around to witness this type of power.

3:47 I am up at 3:30. I don’t believe it but I am.
We are traveling to the top of one of the local volcanoes( quilotoa) for sunrise. Sunrise is at 6:00 ( I don’t have to check it is the same everyday) and it is about a 2 hour trip.
The family I am with are friends of the poet. They are two sons ( who got to university in loja) and the parents who operate a small high school in Latacunga

22:49 I took a bus ride last night, And as the sun was rising there was a amazing mountain peak in the distance. It was a sight I will remember for a long time.  Especially since the top of this mountain is the closet place to the sun on the planet. ( Everest is the highest above sea level, but because of the way the earth bulges around the centre, Cotopaxi is the furthest from the center of the earth.
Right now I am in bed. We want to leave at 4am to see a sunrise from the top of a mountain ( not Cotopaxi )
 My hosts are still singing in the living room. I would like to with them, but I know if I don’t keep up with my sleep I may have problems… I was very close to exhaustion a couple of days ago and could feel myself “slipping”. It is nice to hear the voices and guitars….there are some very talented people.

10:55 I have been back in Loja for a couple of days and I am feeling much better about things
The travel to get here is long… The next time I will break it up with a stop along the way. 24 hours of constant travel is too much. Especially with the bus trip as the last part.
Going the other way wasn’t as bad
I have come to realize that I like it here. The climate is ok, my apartment is ok, I know people, I am safe… It isn’t perfect but where is perfection
