Homesick

It is strange the things that will make you miss home.

I have a very good friend who is having a delicate and scary operation while I write this.

update: he has passed through the operation successfully… now comes the 5 to 7 day stay in Hospital… not sure how many in ICU

Even though there is nothing I can do to affect the outcome, this is the first time since I arrived I wanted to get on a plane to go home.

It must be very tough on immigrants who don’t have the option.

I assume as soon as I hear the news from Toronto, that this urge will pass.

update:  It caused a sleepless night, and I am still somewhat conflicted… where are the startrek transporters when we want them?
